Toru Oyama, a young Japanese, who with his pianistic mastery and virtuosity electrified a packed audience.

Toru Oyama presented a varied program – from Mozart to Ravel. The core of the program was the 24 Préludes opus 28 by Chopin, which he played marvelously. All nuances of thoses pieces, from delicate sounds to powerful fortissimi, from exercises for the left hand to melodic, song-like parts – everything sounded transparent and truly "Chopinesk", a wonderful listening experience.‘ (Hessische/Niedersächsische Allgemeine. Translated from German to English by Jan Schlotthus)

While Toru is an active performer, he is dedicated to teaching talented young pianists. In the season of 2014/15, he was appointed as ‘Artist in Residence’ at the Jakarta Conservatory of Music and taught the best young Indonesian pianists.
